Hi, everybody. Kristin is back! Her husband Rich returns! And George is still here. The conversation begins with a discussion about Art Spiegelman's Pulitzer Prize winning graphic novel Maus recently being removed from an eighth grade cirriculum in a Tennessee county. Then, we turn to Raina Telgemeier's young adult graphic novel Drama being removed, among other books, from some school libraries. This took us down a path more serious than that for which we are known. The topics are important and you get to be a fly on the wall as three friends have a frank heart to heart to heart chat. It's civil discourse at its best.
The second George Perez Celebration episode of The Daily Rios podcast (episode 543) is available now. Our cohost George joined this panel of fine folks to talk about what this iconic artist means to us. Subscribe to the show on your apps so you don't miss an episode. Plus, don't forget, Rodney and George had their own George Perez love fest on episode 137. Check our archives if you haven't listened already.
Please check out the January 1, 2022 episode of the Enough Wicker podcast entitled, "Thank You For Being A Fan: Enough Wicker Contest Submissions." Among the great scholarly takes on various episodes of The Golden Girls, you will hear our friend, author Susan Quilty (@SusanQuilty on Twitter) and our cohost George. Go ahead and subscribe to their show while you're at it and follow them on Twitter @EnoughWicker.
Speaking of our cohost George, he has started using #my500comicgoal on Twitter to chronicle the comics and graphic novels he will read throughout 2022. Follow us @MeanwhileATP to see what he's reading. It might be fun for you to share what you are reading by using the same hashtag. We're not holding him to 500 and we won't hold you to it either. It just seems to be the hashtag all the cool kids are using!
